What Is a Pre-Alert and Why It Matters for Your Packages

By Marketsz·October 17, 2026·4 min read

A pre-alert is a notice you send to your package forwarder before an order arrives at the warehouse. It tells us what to expect so we can match the package to your account and process it faster.

Why create a pre-alert?

  • Faster processing: we know whose package it is as soon as it arrives.
  • Fewer delays: store, order number and item details are already on file.
  • Less back and forth: you can attach your invoice up front.

How to create a pre-alert on Marketsz

  1. Log in to your Marketsz account and open Pre-Alerts.
  2. Click Create Pre-Alert.
  3. Enter the tracking number and, optionally, the courier.
  4. Add the store name, order number and the expected delivery date.
  5. List the items in the package and attach your invoice or order screenshot.
  6. Save. You can edit the pre-alert later if anything changes.

A note about Amazon orders

Amazon does not share tracking information for security and privacy reasons, so check your package status in your Amazon account or the Amazon app. You can still submit the pre-alert so Marketsz can prepare for arrival, and make sure your Marketsz suite number is in the delivery address.

What happens next?

When the package arrives we add it to your account and notify you. If anything is missing, such as an invoice, the status changes to Action Required so you can fix it quickly. Then you can consolidate and ship.
